Dear Customers, Partners and Friends,
Since the beginning of COVID-19 outbreak we remained at home and stopped most of our outdoor social activities in order to control the spread and protect ourselves and society. Already everything has changed, as we all attempt to get a grip on this new threat, that has appeared like out of a movie. Today I am writing to you, as the week before last we made the decision to organize things differently than usual at office so we keep up the good work no matter the circumstances.
What we need to remember at this point is that nutrition is very important in order to stay strong and cope with whatever happens.
In terms of health effects in these times, the weight has truly fallen on the olives & olive oil. That is because…
- Olive oil is high in a group of antioxidants called phenols. Phenols help against chronic inflammation which is among the leading causes of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, metabolic syndromes, arthritis and Alzheimer.
- Olive oil’s polyphenols are known for a variety of actions: antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, cardioprotective, antimicrobial, antiviral action.
Furthermore olive leaves contain a substance called oleuropein. Leaf extracts have been used as an antipyretic drug, as a treatment for malaria, as a diuretic treatment, as a treatment for urinary tract infections. Olive leaf extracts are known to lower blood pressure.
A diet enriched with olive oil will definitely make a difference and sustain a better health for long term in the future.
